FILED TO SPORTSJOURNEY/LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation (WRCF) will host “Movies with Morris” at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, 20575 Easthampton Plaza, Ashburn, VA 20147 on Wednesday, June 4 from 6 – 9 p.m.

During this full-length, feature event, running back Alfred Morris and Redskins players will select eight of their favorite movies to air in Alamo’s theaters.

In honor of Morris, the Redskins’ 2013 Walter Payton Man of the Year, all event proceeds will benefit the “Play 60 for All” program, which provides grant funding to local schools and non-profits to assist in the purchase of health and wellness equipment, a cause personally selected by Morris.

“I’m a movie buff,” Morris said. “So to be able to tie that in with a great cause, it can’t get any better. It’s so important to me as a professional athlete to send the message to kids to get healthy and stay active, and this event will help do that by supporting the ‘Play 60 for All’ program.”

Tickets are available for reservation at www.redskins.com/movieswithmorris. General admission tickets are $200. VIP tickets and sponsorship packages are also available.

Prior to the movie showing, a reception will be held in the main lobby of the theater, including drinks and hors d’ouevres, as well as a silent auction. Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan, fullback Darrel Young and long snapper Nick Sundberg are also expected to attend and will speak on their movie choices.

Morris was selected by the WRCF as the Redskins’ 2013 Walter Payton Man of the Year, an honor given annually by the league to recognize a player’s community service and volunteer efforts as well as his excellence on the field. WRCF held at least one community event each week throughout the 2013 season, all of which were supported by Morris. On the field, Morris was one of the most productive members of the Redskins’ offense in 2013, finishing the season with 1,275 yards on 276 carries (4.6 avg.). Morris has now rushed for a total of 2,888 yards from 2012-13, the ninth-most rushing yardage of any running back in his first two NFL seasons.

Hail.
