Rashad Ross Preaseason

Ashburn, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed wide receiver Rashad Ross to their practice squad and wide receiver Marvin McNutt, previously on the practice squad, was released.

In addition, the team announced that it has commenced the 21-day practice periods for defensive end Stephen Bowen and wide receiver Leonard Hankerson, both of whom are currently on the team’s Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.

Ross (6’0″, 181 lbs.) originally signed with the Redskins as a free agent on May 23, 2014, and participated in training camp and the preseason before being waived on August 26. He signed to the Chicago Bears’ practice squad on Sept. 1 and was signed to the team’s active roster on Sept. 16, ultimately appearing in his first two NFL games in Weeks 3-4. He did not catch any passes in the contests with Chicago but did during the Redskins’ first two preseason games, catching one pass for 35 yards against the New England Patriots and one pass for 43 yards verus the Cleveland Browns.

The wide out was waived by Chicago on September 30, added to the team’s practice squad on October 2, and later released on October 7.

Ross practiced with the team today.
