Ashburn, Va. – In addition to some of the bigger free agent signings and draft picks, the Washington Redskins signed some other players to the roster.

In early June, the team signed free agent cornerback Trey Wolfe, free agent offensive linemen, Bryce Quigley, Willie Smith and nose tackle Jerrell Powe.

Wolfe (5’11, 293 lbs.) entered the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks as a college free agent in August of 2014 but then waived by them later in the month. He was signed to the Washington Redskins’ practice squad in November of 2014.

He played collegiately at various points at Reedley College (Calif.), Midwestern State (Texas) and Fort Valley State (Ga.) from 2007-13, playing nine games as a freshman cornerback at Reedley in 2007. There he intercepted four passes and recorded nine pass breakups. He was redshirted in 2008. Wolfe earned first-team All-California Region II and All-Valley Conference honors after making eight starts at cornerback in 2009, returning eight interceptions for 73 yards including a school-record return of 51 yards for a touchdown. He appeared in three games as a reserve defensive back and primary punt returner at Midwestern State in 2010. He also played at Fort Valley State as a senior captain in 2013, earning second-team Division II All-American honors after recording eight interceptions.

Wolfe, 26, grew up in Marietta, Ga.

Quigley (6’4”, 302 lbs.) originally entered the NFL with the Detroit Lions in June of 2014. After being waived by the Lions in August, he signed onto the San Diego Chargers’ practice squad in Week 14 of last season. He was waived by the Chargers in May of this year.

The tackle played collegiately at San Diego State, where he appeared in 50 career games with 38 starts, including 27 consecutive starts to close out his Aztec career. He attended Granite Hills H.S. in El Cajon, Calif., earning All-Desert Sky League selections in 2008 and 2009.

Quigley, 22, was born on June 26, 1992.

Smith (6’5”, 310 lbs.) originally entered the NFL with the Redskins as a college free agent in July of 2011. He has appeared in 29 career games with 11 starts as a member of the Redskins, Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers.

Smith appeared in four games with three starts for the Redskins as a rookie in 2011. A year later, he started seven of the nine games in which he appeared for the Raiders. After playing one game for the Chargers in 2013, Smith appeared in a career high 15 games last season, including a Week 15 start vs. Denver.
The offensive lineman played collegiately at East Carolina, where he was named a first-team All-Conference USA selection as a senior in 2010.

Smith, 28, attended North Johnston H.S. in Kenly, N.C., where he helped lead his team to a 14-1 record and a conference championship as a senior captain in 2005.

He was born on Nov. 13, 1986.

Powe (6’2”, 331 lbs.) was originally selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the sixth round (199th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft. In three seasons with Kansas City from 2011-13 and one season with the Houston Texans in 2014, he appeared in 28 career games with four starts, compiling 18 tackles (12 solo), two passes defensed and a sack. Last season, Powe appeared in all 16 games for Houston, making three starts.

The nose tackle played collegiately at Ole Miss, where he earned second-team All-Southeastern Conference honors from the league’s coaches and was chosen as a team captain as a senior in 2010. He appeared in 37 games with the Rebels with 22 starts from 2008-10.

Powe, 28, attended Wayne County H.S. in Waynesboro, Miss., where earned Parade All-American honors and played in the U.S. Army All-America Bowl as a senior. He was born on March 15, 1987.

In addition to the above signings, the team waived quarterback Hutson Mason and tackle Tovar Allen.
