The Washington Redskins face the red-hot Houston Texans on Sunday. The Redskins are coming off a 16-3 road win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Washington’s will try to secure their fourth home win of the season and improve their overall record to 7-3. Their wins at home have come against the Green Bay Packers in Week 3, the Carolina Panthers in Week 6 and the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7. One of the Redskins home losses, however, came back in Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts who are in the same division (AFC South) as the Texans.

The Redskins will play the Texans with a two-game lead in the NFC East on the line. The Texans (6-3) have been one of the NFL’s hottest teams and have reeled off six consecutive wins.

What would a win do for the Redskins from a statistical and historical standpoint?

Winning would improve the Redskins’ record to 7-3 and give Washington its best start to a season through 10 games since posting a 7-3 record back in 1996.

Offensive scoring could turn Redskins into a playoff factor

A win would mark the 600th regular season victory in franchise history and would make Washington the fifth franchise in NFL history to accomplish the feat, joining the Chicago Bears (755), Green Bay Packers (741), New York Giants (689) and Pittsburgh Steelers (625).

A victory improves the Redskins’ 2018 record at home to 4-2 giving them their best home record through six home games since 2016.

A win moves the Redskins’ record to 1-1 against the AFC this season.

A “W” improves the Redskins all-time regular season record against Houston to 3-2.

A win would give the Redskins their first win over Houston since Sept. 24, 2006.

Finally, a victory would give the Redskins their first home win over Houston since Dec. 22, 2002.
