Over the past several seasons the Washington Redskins have had several starting defensive back units. Almost on a weekly basis the units were in constant shuffle-mode due to injuries, poor play or lack of depth.

This season however, the unit appears to have addressed the last of the aforementioned issues. There are 16 defensive backs on the training camp roster who are likely auditioning for 10 spots on the final 53-man team.

Players that are sure to on the team are safeties DeAngelo Hall, Duke Ihenacho, David Bruton Jr., Will Blackmon and Su’a Cravens; the latter of whom may be listed as a linebacker on the final roster.

Cornerbacks who should be on the final roster are Josh Norman, Bashaud Breeland, Quentin Dunbar and Kendall Fuller.

Others such as Washington, D.C. native Greg Toler (CB), DaShaun Phillips (CB), Lloyd Carrington (CB), Mariel Cooper (CB), Jeremy Harris (CB), Deshazor Everett (S) and Geno Matias-Smith (S) will all battle perhaps for the final roster spot or two depending on Cravens listing.
